unmothered is a bold new song cycle that explores the emotional inheritance passed between women across three generations. Blending original folk/indie-inspired music, poetic text, and heightened theatricality, the show dives deep into the unspoken wounds and quiet resilience of mothers and daughters.
Told in three acts, unmothered follows unnamed characters representing a grandmother, mother, and daughter, tracking how silence, sacrifice, and unmet needs ripple through time. With a live piano on stage and layered soundscapes evoking memory and loss, audiences can expect a non-traditional musical experience, intimate, raw, and emotionally charged.
Performed at Flinders University Drama Centre (2025)
